Apex: operational intelligence, beneath your business

A continuous partnership for established Australian businesses. We embed with your team and deliver against outcomes we agree on together.

Most change stalls because everyone who understands the work is too busy doing it.

The plan is rarely the problem. Someone owns it alongside their real job, it slips a quarter, priorities move, and eighteen months later nothing has shipped. Apex removes that failure mode. The work is our job, not an extra line on someone’s plate, and it is built to fit your operation rather than adapted from something generic.

How your roadmap is structured

Establish

Every partnership starts here. We embed, set your North Stars and the KPIs we measure against, and focus on one workstream to deliver early, provable wins. Foundations first, value before we go broader.

Transform

As results build, so does the partnership. Multiple workstreams run in parallel, the cadence tightens, and strategic advisory comes into play. This is where the compounding starts to show, quarter on quarter.

Dominate

Full operational intelligence. We are embedded at a strategic level with board-ready reporting, shaping direction rather than just executing it. Your technology stops being a cost and becomes a genuine competitive edge.

Apex reserves dedicated capacity for your business, sized to your budget and focused on finding value.

How a partnership starts

Every Apex engagement begins the same way — a workshop, then a roadmap you own, before anyone talks about a retainer.

Rapid Insight Workshop, $9,000 + GST

Every Apex engagement starts here. The RIW maps the full operational picture of your business: systems, costs, friction points, and opportunities. It is a commercial filter and a discovery tool in one session. Clients who book an RIW have already demonstrated budget authority and strategic intent. That matters to us.

Roadmap and research handover

The RIW produces a prioritised transformation roadmap and a research and insights handover pack. It positions the initial software builds and the structure of the ongoing retainer. Everything flows from this. Nothing is guesswork.

Embedded partnership

We embed as your proactive strategic partner, not a project team. The engagement model includes a strategic roadmap with quarterly KPI setup, a monthly team meeting, a six-monthly partnership review, full visibility through TOOL, an embedded lead backed by our specialists, and maintenance of everything we build. KPIs are agreed upfront. Delivery is continuous. The relationship is measured in outcomes.

We are close enough to know how you work, and far enough outside to say what needs saying.

Every business has decisions that never get made because nobody wants to be the one to make them. A process nobody defends but nobody kills. A system three people hate and one person protects. Apex works because we sit inside your operation without sitting inside its politics, and because what we build is made for how your business actually runs, not adapted from a product built for someone else’s.

What a partnership can draw on

We work with you to define your priorities and design solutions aimed at delivering value. Solutions could include:

Custom platforms

Custom software platforms built for your operational context.

Process automation

Business process automation and RPA.

Data integration

Data integration across fragmented systems.

A single source of truth

We connect the disconnected systems you already run into one searchable source of truth.

Agents on the jobs that hurt

Up to three agents, each built for a specific job (invoicing, compliance, forecasting, whatever the business needs) and bound to your own rules, working from that same foundation.

Roadmap delivery

Ongoing delivery against the numbers we agreed at the start, reviewed with you every month.

Systems an Apex partnership works on

These are the systems the roadmap usually touches, and none of them are ever finished. Each one keeps changing as the business does, which is why the work is monthly rather than a project with an end date.

Enterprise integration
Enterprise integration

The connected stack, and the clearest case for a monthly arrangement: a connection is never done. Vendors change their APIs, you buy another system, volumes outgrow what the first build assumed.

ERP integration
ERP integration

The system of record for money and stock. Under a retainer the connections around it are watched and updated, rather than failing quietly for three weeks.

CRM integration
CRM integration

Sales sees stock and pricing without asking. Which system is right about a customer changes as you grow, so that mapping gets revisited rather than set once.

Manufacturing execution
Manufacturing execution

What the floor is actually doing while the shift runs. Every new line, product and machine changes what the system has to report, which is ongoing work by nature.

Warehouse management
Warehouse management

Stock with a location instead of a number, and directed picking. Layouts, carriers and pick paths keep moving, so the system has to move with them.

Sales and operations planning
Sales and operations planning

One agreed number for what you will sell and make. The planning cycle runs every month, and so does the work keeping the numbers behind it trustworthy.

Maintenance management
Maintenance management

What you own, what it has cost and what is due next. An asset register is only worth having while somebody keeps it honest.

Quality management
Quality management

Checks, non-conformances and corrective actions captured at the point of work. Standards and audit requirements change most years, and the system follows them.

Field service management
Field service management

Scheduling, dispatch and capture on site, including an app that still works with no signal. Crews, territories and job types shift constantly.

Workflow automation
Workflow automation

The manual steps between systems. We take the worst one, then the next — a backlog that suits a monthly roadmap better than a single quote.

AI agents
AI agents

Repetitive jobs like invoicing, compliance checks and forecasting, handed to an agent bound to your rules. Each one gets tuned as the work changes, which suits a monthly roadmap.

How the partnership runs, day to day

Every quarter we set the direction for the next stretch of work and tie it to measurable KPIs. The roadmap is a rolling plan, so priorities flex as the business changes while always pointing at agreed outcomes.

A monthly meeting with your key people for the initiative in flight, where we stay close to the business, surface new opportunities, unblock work, and keep delivery aligned to what matters most right now. On top of that, a six-monthly partnership review steps back to check results against the KPIs, show the value delivered, and recalibrate.

You get full visibility into our project management platform: progress, priorities, and what the team is working on for the quarter ahead. No waiting for a status report. The picture is always current.

A dedicated lead who owns the relationship and knows the business inside out, backed by access to our specialists as the work demands. Continuity from the lead, depth from the wider team.

Transformation rarely fails on the strategy, it fails on the calendar. The roadmap gets agreed, then it competes with the day job and loses. Apex is a standing commitment with named people and monthly reporting, so the work moves whether or not this quarter is busy. And because everything is built for your operation rather than configured from a template, there is nothing to work around once it lands.

What we build is maintained as part of the partnership, so the software keeps working as your business changes.

Whatever your priorities call for. That might be a data layer that connects your systems, agents on specific jobs, or custom platforms. We scope each one with you before it starts.

Everything CodeFish builds for you is yours: the code, the repository, the data, and the IP. That holds whether the partnership runs six months or five years. Our own data platform is the exception and we say so plainly — it stays ours, deployed at no extra cost during the partnership and licensable if you want to keep it afterwards. Nothing we build is held hostage to keep you renewing.

When you have one defined thing to build and no appetite for an ongoing relationship — buy an Amplify project instead and keep your money. Apex also does not suit a business that cannot free up a decision-maker: the partnership works because someone on your side can agree a roadmap and act on it, and without that we are guessing monthly. And if your operation is genuinely running well, with numbers people trust and little manual rework, there is not enough friction here to pay for. We would rather say that in the first meeting than bill you for twelve months of finding it out.

Where an Apex partnership pays for itself

Three levers, in the order we usually pull them — cost out first, hours back second, new revenue once the foundation can carry it.

Cut legacy software spend

Cost reduction

Most enterprises pay for systems they have outgrown or tools that duplicate each other. We identify them, replace them, and put that budget back on the P and L.

Automate what is slowing you down

Efficiency

Manual processes, disconnected workflows, data that lives in spreadsheets. We map them and replace them with automation and connected systems.

Build the next revenue capability

Revenue growth

A new customer portal, a data-driven service offering, an AI-enabled product layer. Something that opens a revenue stream that did not exist before.

Is Apex the right fit for you?

You run an established business, and the systems underneath it have not kept up with how it works now. You want one partner accountable for the outcome, not a project that ends when the invoice is paid. And you are ready to commit to a roadmap for six months or more, measured against numbers we agree up front.

Ready to optimise your business intelligence?

The Rapid Insight Workshop is where it starts. Half a day. Full operational picture. A roadmap that tells you exactly where to move first and what it is worth when you do.
