When Redarc Defence & Space and JKSM Offroad needed a rugged, mission-ready vehicle for Australia’s premier defence expo, Land Forces, they turned to CodeFish Studio to design and develop a storage system fit for the battlefield.

But there was a challenge - the Ineos Grenadier was brand new to market with zero aftermarket support.

The problem

With no aftermarket storage options available, people were cobbling together DIY fixes, struggling with unreliable mounts, and making do with inefficient setups. The forums were full of questions, frustrations, and workarounds.

The message was loud and clear—this vehicle needed a proper storage system that actually worked.

The goal: Maximise storage, improve efficiency, and ensure modular adaptability for future applications.

This wasn’t just about mounting defence equipment—it was about designing a storage system that felt purpose-built for the Grenadier from day one.

With the Land Forces Expo fast approaching, there was no room for guesswork, every decision had to be precise. Drawing from past experience and our proven methodology, we focused on three key priorities:

Utility First – More than just storage, every component had to enhance functionality.
Rapid Design & Prototyping – 3D scanning, CAD modelling, and real-world testing ensured a precise, practical fit.
Scalability – Designed beyond defence, built for fleet operators, overlanders, and commercial users alike.

Grenadier owners had a need. Our client had a mission. We turned both into a solution that just makes sense.

From sketch to product

Creating a rugged, functional storage system required a blend of design expertise, real-world application, and agile problem-solving:

3D scanning the Grenadier eliminated guesswork, ensuring precise mounting without manual measuring.
Hand sketching and rapid prototyping allowed for quick iteration without wasting budget on full redesigns.
A scalable manufacturing strategy so that JKSM Offroad could commercialise the design for a post-expo launch.
