Yes, and it is usually most of the value. Those platforms are each good at their own job and none of them knows about the others. We connect them so an order, a subscription change or a refund flows through once instead of being re-entered, and so your reporting stops being a monthly assembly job.
When an off-the-shelf stack genuinely covers it. If Shopify plus a couple of apps runs your business and the gaps are annoyances rather than costs, keep your money.
